Frequently asked questions

Greece Powerball is the South African name for Joker (also written Tzoker), the main jackpot lottery run by OPAP in Greece since 1997. Players pick 5 numbers from 1 to 45 and 1 Joker number from 1 to 20. Matching all six wins the jackpot.

Three times a week: Tuesday, Thursday and Sunday evenings, around 22:00 Greek time (EET).

The first Joker draw was held in 1997. The game has now run for over twenty-seven years with around 3,000 draws on record.

1 in 24,435,180. That figure is from OPAP's published prize-tier breakdown. There are smaller prize tiers for matching fewer numbers, the easiest of which is matching just the Joker (1 in 20).

The jackpot rolls over when no one wins and has reached over €19 million in past years. There is no cap on the rollover.

OPAP's official site is geographically restricted to Greek IP addresses. South African visitors get an error or a blank page. We mirror the published results here so SA players can still check draws.

No. Nothing improves the underlying odds of any lottery, including any analytics or prediction service. Our honest math page explains why hot, cold and overdue numbers don't predict the next draw. Predictions are a starting point shaped by the long-run distribution of past draws, not a system that beats random.

Randomly, shaped by the long-run distribution of historical draws (sum total, odd/even balance, decade spread). Each combination still has the same odds as any other. The generator is a starting point, not a prediction.

Every lottery landing page (Greece Powerball, Lotto, Proto, Extra 5, Eurojackpot) carries hot, cold, overdue and pair-frequency tables for that game. The convergence chart on the homepage shows the law of large numbers in action across the full archive.
