Frequency converging to chance

Every ball has a theoretical 12.24% chance of being drawn each time (6 of 49). Pick any number below to see how its observed frequency settles toward that line across 2,748 draws.

The top 2 are the most-drawn numbers in our archive; the bottom 2 are the least-drawn. Over enough draws, all four end up within a fraction of a percent of 12.24%.

About Greek Lotto

Greek Lotto (Lotto in Greek) is OPAP’s classic six-ball draw, running since 2000. Pick six numbers from 1 to 49; match all six to win the jackpot.

Draws are held twice a week: every Wednesday and Saturday at 22:00 EET. The guaranteed minimum jackpot is €1.2 million.

Why Greek Lotto draws twice a week

Greek Lotto draws on Wednesday and Saturday evenings. Combined with Joker (Tuesday, Thursday, Sunday), this gives players a jackpot draw nearly every day.

The 1 to 49 number pool is broad enough to create regular rollovers that can push jackpots into the millions within weeks.

How the five prize tiers work

Greek Lotto pays prizes for matching 3, 4, 5, or all 6 numbers. Matches of 3 to 5 numbers pay fixed amounts.

The jackpot (all 6) is split equally among all winners that draw. If no one wins the jackpot, the full amount rolls to the next draw with a raised minimum.

A note for South African followers

Lotto results here are shown in South African time (SAST), so you can check the outcome immediately after the draw closes.

Greek Lotto FAQs

Frequently asked

Straight answers to the questions our visitors ask most often, with a South African lens.

What is Greek Lotto and how does it work?

Greek Lotto (officially Lotto, operated by OPAP) is a 6-number draw from a pool of 1 to 49. Players choose 6 numbers; to win the jackpot all 6 must match the draw.

Draws are held every Wednesday and Saturday at 22:00 EET. There are 5 prize tiers ranging from matching 3 numbers to matching all 6.

When are Greek Lotto draws and what time is that in South Africa?

Greek Lotto is drawn twice a week: every Wednesday and Saturday at 22:00 Eastern European Time.

In South African Standard Time this is approximately 21:00 SAST during Greek summer (UTC+3) and 22:00 SAST during Greek winter (UTC+2).

What is the minimum Greek Lotto jackpot?

The guaranteed minimum Greek Lotto jackpot is 1.2 million euros. If the jackpot tier has no winner, it rolls over to the next draw. There is no published cap on how high the jackpot can grow.

How many numbers do you pick in Greek Lotto?

You pick 6 numbers from 1 to 49. There is no bonus ball in Greek Lotto. Prize tiers are based solely on how many of your 6 numbers match the 6 drawn.

Where can South Africans check the official Greek Lotto results?

The official source is OPAP at opap.gr. Geographic restrictions may apply.

This site mirrors every result from the OPAP public feed within minutes of the draw, providing a fast, accessible results board for South African and international audiences.

Can South Africans play Greek Lotto?
